LA28 Soliciting Transportation Partners for 2028 Olympic & Paralympic Games

LA28 soliciting interest from experienced and emerging operators to move thousands during the games

The Los Angeles Organizing Committee for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games (LA28) has announced its intent to solicit bids for the turnkey operation of an extensive bus transportation network during the Games. The proposed contract will cover the operation of approximately 2,000 to 3,000 buses dedicated to transporting accredited stakeholders—such as athletes, officials, media representatives, and other credentialed personnel—throughout the international sporting event.

LA28 calls on transportation companies with proven experience in managing large-scale, high-profile events to express interest in this massive undertaking. However, the committee also encourages participation from smaller operators with specialized or regional fleet capabilities. The project offers opportunities for both large and small providers to contribute to the success of this global event.

The scope of services will include every aspect of bus operations—from planning the transportation network and routes to procuring and maintaining the fleet. The selected vendor or vendors will be responsible for staffing, depot management, scheduling and booking systems, driver training, operational readiness, and day-to-day operations. All services must meet the International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) high standards and align with LA28’s mission to deliver an exceptional and efficient Games experience in Los Angeles.

Before the formal release of the Request for Proposals (RFP), LA28 is conducting preliminary outreach to the transportation industry. The organizing committee is gathering input through a supplier interest survey, which is now available via the City of Los Angeles’s RAMP LA procurement portal. This early engagement is designed to assess market interest, identify potential partners, and ensure a competitive and well-informed bidding process when the RFP is issued.

Transportation providers interested in participating in the LA28 Games or learning more about the opportunity are encouraged to complete the survey.

With global attention turning to Los Angeles in 2028, this transportation initiative will be a vital component of the Games’ success—offering companies a chance to showcase their capabilities on one of the world’s largest stages.
